The now-defunct Telltale Games built its games around the idea of player choice having an impact on the narrative, but as many players discovered, those promises were mostly just smoke and mirrors. Until Dawn , on the other hand, incorporates player choice in a truly meaningful way, with players able to decide the fate of basically every playable character in the game. Playing like a big budget Telltale-style Adventure game Guide game, Until Dawn is a fantastic homage to 80s slasher films with an engaging story full of surprises and scares, and it's one of the most essential horror games of the last few ye
Players would soon run out, and then be asked to pay real money to cast the most basic of spells. Quickly, Niantic added a fix to the game that provides more Spell Energy, but it is still something that players need to keep an eye on all the time. This leads to the second issue, which is that it feels absolutely ridiculous having Spell Energy in the first pl
If one were to ask different people what they would do at a place like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, they would probably get different answers from everyone. Some would say learning magic, others might focus on herbology and brewing potions, some will demand to play Quidditch all day long, others would ditch the school and set out to be a dragon tamer with Charlie Weasley, while others would say no thank you to any of that excitement and apply for a job at Gringotts Wizarding B
Niantic could instead monetize the equivalent of incubators from Pokémon GO and cosmetics, which they do with keys and distinct Hogwarts House robes and scarves, but keeping tabs on Spell Energy all of the time has become more and more annoying, to the point where this writer wonders what the point of it all

In general, the graphics are good, not great. It appears that in creating this port, a similar process was used that we have seen in the recent release of God Eater 3 : there have been some clear graphical downgrades to ensure a smooth and consistent framerate. This appears to be the norm on the Switch now and is considered preferable to framerate l
Unlike those initial frenzied months of Pokémon GO where it seemed everyone outside was running around trying to catch their favorite first-generation Pokémon, there hardly seems to be any players looking to become a powerful Witch or Wizard. Why is it one game began so spectacularly, and another did not? It is not as though Harry Potter is some unknown charac
In Pokémon GO, you get to choose your appearance and your outfit, which makes it feel more like it’s you in the game. This is something that Wizards Unite is bound to improve on as time goes by, but for now, fans of Niantic's other outing are likely to feel a little disappointed by t
The bulk of Wizards Unite 's gameplay seems to revolve around things called “Foundables.” These are defined by the game's official website as “artefacts, creatures, people, and even memories” that are for some reason appearing in the Muggle world, aka our reality. Players are part of a special Ministry Of Magic task force on a mission to track down these Foundables and return them to the Wizarding Wo
While both games have their advantages and disadvantages, fans of Pokémon GO and Harry Potter now have the chance to enjoy and play both. We’ve put together a list of things Wizards Unite does better than Pokémon GO, and other areas in which it falls sh
One of the great things about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is that it allows fans to participate in the world in a way that adds to the lore. Characters like Harry and Hermione are there to give tips and information about what is going on, and the story combines aspects of both the original series and the newer Fantastic Beasts mov
During my turn as a survivor, producer Matheiu Côté encouraged me to stick close to teammates, but not just for cooperation. He gleefully explained that often the best strategy for escaping the killer is to use your fellow survivors as a distraction. There’s cooperation only to a point, he said, because ultimately you only win if you get out alive. That dynamic extends to whether or not you want to save your teammates from death. You see, when the killer attacks you, he can’t actually kill you just yet. First, he has to hang you on a meat hook, which will slowly drain your life. You can tap a button to struggle and free yourself, but that will accelerate your rate of death significantly, which probably isn’t the best move unless the killer left to go hunt your friends. Sometimes the better move is instead to hang out on the hook for a little while and let a teammate come rescue you. Of course, there’s still real incentive to watch out for each other, like the ability to heal each other or work on fixing a generator together to speed things up. A one-on-one fight between you and the killer probably isn’t going to work out in your favor.
