The story of Cyberpunk 2077 begins in one of three different ways based on background the player chose: Street Kid, Nomad or Corpo. After playing through an introductory mission that varies greatly depending on the background, the player ends up with the same partner on the same mission. This doesn't mean the chosen backstory is irrelevant after the intro as there are many dialogue options that are specific to each which can lead to interesting interactions and information about NPCs. Once V is settled in Night City, the goal is to become a legend that will forever be remembered in the annals of who's who in organized crime such as Adam Smasher. V ends up taking jobs of a less than legal nature, and as one would expect in such things, people get killed and betrayed as the web of crime V weaves becomes ever greater and more intricate as V struggles to stay alive. Going into too many further details about the story here could diminish the experience for the player, but it does grow into something complex and memorable. Updated October 27, 2023 by Erik Petrovich : With the 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077 comes a new way to respec in the revitalized base game. Now, players can reset Attributes in Cyberpunk 2077, and resetting Perks is easier than ever. While there's a catch to the Cyberpunk Attribute respec, there are fewer restrictions when it comes to how to reset Perks. Players don't even need to go to anywhere special, or get an item, to respec in Cyberpunk 2077 anymore, as it can all be done from within each respective game menu. 2.0 changed a lot of core mechanics in Cyberpunk 2077, and knowing the new respec systems is the first step towards honing a build to take on the new challenges of both Phantom Liberty and the base g This game and its predecessor are basically cyberpunk royalty. The 1999 ARPG incorporated horror elements into its cyberpunk setting aboard a starship in 2114. System Shock featured elements such as hacking, FPS combat, and puzzles. The game also makes use of implants and upgrades to unlock different abilities including psion Although Cyberpunk 2077 's tabletop origins are well documented, CD Projekt Red primarily used the source material's setting and themes rather than its gameplay routine (although, this aspect was not completely ignored either). Conversely, Citizen Sleeper plays closer to a traditional in-person RPG, to the point that players start each day by rolling dice to guide their actions for the immediate future. It seems that almost every character has something memorable to say, and the best Cyberpunk 2077 quotes from the base game and Phantom Liberty present an array of emotions, from cool, to gut-wrenching, to hilari Night City is a sprawling megacity in Northern California that caters to humanity's baser instincts and there's no shortage of things to keep the player busy. Criminal activity seems to be one of the major sources of employment along with other shall we say hedonistic activities. The developers were not subtle that the sex industry is booming in Night City and the love of money is the only love people chase. When V isn't doing missions the player is free to enjoy the services offered from the working class of Night City and take in the tourist sights. Crime is a huge problem and extra money and street cred can be earned by assisting the police by breaking up assaults and other crimes in process in the most lethal ways possible. The main story path of Cyberpunk 2077 is on the shorter size for a game of this scope and can be completed in the 20-30 hour range, but with all the available activities and side jobs, getting two or three times that amount of enjoyment in a single playthrough is possible. Plus the shorter main story lends itself well to replaying with a different character and experiencing the different ways the story can branch. Similar to its inspiration, Rogue City takes place in Old Detroit, a cyberpunk setting oozing '80s charm. Violence runs rampant throughout the city, and RoboCop exists to keep the peace, a process that generally involves filling gang members with enough bullets to fill a swimming pool. The campaign consists of two sections: linear story levels and exploration in a sandbox. The former highlights Rogue City 's gratifying combat since Teyon, wisely, opted to embrace the protagonist's overpowered nature, allowing players to tank hits while they slowly mow down dozens upon dozens of enemies. The story is nothing special but suits the franchise. Outside these missions, RoboCop heads to the streets in search of minor cases, and the game's sandbox brings to life the movie's setting very well. Old Detroit is nowhere near as large or deep as Cyberpunk 2077 's Night City, but it is fun to expl
