-There you have it. While there is a lot more history and detailed information regarding specific individuals and enemies during the conflicts of Destiny, this is a broad overview of what happened throughout the course of the game. You should now be prepared for [[https://www.destiny2Focus.com/|Destiny 2 strategy]] 2 when it hits PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6with the PC version coming October 24.+(Image: [[https://elocarry.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/rivals-guide.png|https://elocarry.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/rivals-guide.png]])Once upon a time, Bungie justified microtransactions by saying that all future, non-major expansions would be free. They held that promise throughout the lifespan of The Taken King and Rise of Ironbut have since broken it. Not only do we have to pay for expansions again, but most of the loot that could previously be earned during Destiny’s lifecycle is also all locked behind microtransactions. Every ship, sparrow, cool shader, ornament, and emote can’t be obtained by completing challenges in-game, but only by opening Loot Boxes. Considering that Bungie was just caught handicapping XP gains to encourage real-money purchases, this move feels entirely wrong.

-Shadersships and sparrowswhich could all be obtained as rewards in the Destiny 1 eraare tied to Destiny 2’s microtransaction system. Sure, common and rare shaders can be found be exploring the different worlds, but the most desirable shaders are all locked behind microtransactions and are now single use. It’s cool that shaders can now be individually placed on each piece of armor or weapon, but turning them into one-time consumables tied to microtransactions is terribleSwapping shaders in and out in Destiny 1 was fun piece of customization, but Destiny 2 strips that away.+Destiny 2 is in a state of crisis. After a successful launchthe game and its developerBungie, have been engulfed in controversy. The game’s lack of endgame contentheavy use of microtransactions, and XP controversy have hampered Destiny 2’s prospects and hurt Bungie’s image. It’s this that makes the timing of Destiny 2 – Expansion I: Curse of Osiris so conspicuousArriving two months after the console launch , and six weeks after the PC launch , Curse of Osiris promises to add slew of new content to the vanilla gameAt $20, though, does Curse of Osiris bring enough to the table or should this expansion be forgotten?

-While including a loot box that doesn’t award duplicates is better than only having completely random loot boxesdoing so doesn’t take away from the fact that Bungie’s game is still highly encouraging its players to engage with loot boxes instead of actually earning lootIt also doesn’t take away from the fact that they’re still pushing random microtransactions in game with a sixty dollars price tag and paid DLC. What’s more, they don't appear to see anything wrong with this.+Competitive multiplayer returns in the form of Cruciblewhich has gone through extensive tweaks. Gone are the 6v6 matches, replaced with 4v4 matchesWhile this is a curious choice, the player count works rather well in-game. All multiplayer maps have been designed with this number in mind and it’s easy to find firefights. Playing Crucible is also more rewarding with loot generously dropped and Crucible Reputation tokens after each match.

-We’ve created game that has its own culture now and every Destiny player has adapted to the current classes. What we wanted to do was strip those powers awaymake players think about their characters in some new and exciting ways, and then embrace new forms of fighting within each subclass.+Bungie did turn corner with the laying out of the plan moving forward for Destiny 2, which was a nice gesturebut showing us the content road ahead isn’t what earns trust back ; it’s the work put into Destiny 2. Guardians have been putting in the work of playing the game. Many couldn’t keep up with the grind, but those that stayed see that brighter tomorrow that every NPC is always gabbing about to whichever Guardian will listen.

-We’re not bringing back any of the old weapons and armor because all that stuff is turned to ash and dust by the CabalThat’s one of the great things about Destiny 2. It enables us to create brand-new tale with a fresh start for every single player. Whether you’re someone who looked at Destiny from afarfeeling like you couldn’t jump into the world or feeling like you’ve been left behindor whether youre a veteran player with 100% completion in your record book, you are all joining this new adventure on equal footing. You will be attacked in the same moment. You will all lose the things that your Guardian holds dear. You will all need to go out into the wild and rebuild from the ground up.+The action continues after a short cutscene (yes, there are cutscenes in missions now). We’ve boarded the Cabal capital ship and need to take down the shieldsThe level ended in the shield generator room where we were introduced to Destiny 2’s main antagonist, GhaulLarge and menacing, Bungie claims that he’s more complex villain than, say, Oryxbut he didn’t come across that way in the demo. Hopefullywell see another side of him in the main game.

-Dead Space 3s compromises were bit more subtle but they still resulted in a not-so-minor departure for the seriesWhere the first two games were horror games first and shooters second, Dead Space 3 was the opposite. It traded careful resource management and situational weapons for resource crafting and all-purpose creations. Rather than a tense experience that required its players to think on the fly, players got an occasionally startling but overall leisurely romp through an undead ice planetOnce players acquired enough resources to craft a gun with both long and short range firing modes, any semblance of genuine scares and vulnerability went right out the airlock. Supposedly, Isaac isn’t even alone for most of the game thanks to his partner, Carver, appearing out of the ether during every other cutsceneJust like with Fallout 4 and Destiny 2, Dead Space 3 represented shift in genre for the sake of more mainstream appeal. The semblance of the game its fans loved was still therebut that’all it was: a semblance. The traits that made it unique, that attracted a fanbase in the first place, those were either severely watered down or cut out entirely in the name of attracting more casual players.+Ive played lot of Destinywhether that be in Destiny or Destiny 2 formThis of course means I’ve also done everything Destiny has to throw at meBeing someone who likes Destiny means you’ll probably end up grinding toward the be all end all raid content for whatever iteration the series is on[[https://www.destiny2focus.com/|Destiny 2 Beginner Guide]] 2 has serious problemthough, and it'its raid Leviathan and what it exactly it wants to be.

-The final piece of DLC is more of an isolated incident on Earth, with a couple of overlaying issues after the fact. This takes the player to the Plaguelandsa sealed off area within the Cosmodrone that houses a familiar but new threat. You meet with Saladin Forgethe last remaining Iron Lord who seeks aid from the Guardians. For clarityIron Lords are essentially noble Guardians who have taken up the mantle to defend and rebuild civilizationprotecting the walls of the Last City.+The RNG system is still here but has been streamlined to be more rewarding. Faction Leaders regularly dole out Legendary items after you turn in enough Faction currency to themwhich can be found by participating in activities in the worldplaying Cruciblebreaking down old items and participating in Strikes. All-in-allit’s not much of a chore to get to a high Power Level to take part in the late game activitiesWhat has been negatively impacted in Destiny 2 is a player’s ability to customize their Guardian and earn certain rewards

-We think that a lot of players are going to be pretty surprised about how 4v4 changes the landscape. In terms of being on a big team in Destiny, that’s the RaidThe pinnacle activity in our game is all about being in Fireteam of six and solving the biggest mysteries in the game together.+One of the biggest questions around Destiny 2 is if Activision and Bungie are doing enough to fix what is an extremely wonky machine, and if so, can it be saved? Destiny 2 does have a dedicated fan basebut even that has hit a low point compared to when Destiny found itself going through these same woes, just with less grief, which makes senseDestiny isn't perfect and it came long way from when it launched, but many of the problems in Destiny 2 didn't exist for Destiny. In many ways Destiny 2 felt like it had taken about a thousand steps back. Now Destiny 2 finds itself not only on the same trajectory as the original, but also with more patches and leaks to fix. The boat was sinking as soon as it hit water, it just took a little time at sea to see just how bad things were.

-Curse of Osiris does include two new strikesbut both are pulled directly from the campaign with no changes. Crucible doesn’t fare much better with only two new maps on Xbox One and PCand three on PS4. Unfortunatelyas of publication, Crucible is wholly broken thanks to the Prometheus Lens, a new trace rifle that is completely unbalanced. Bungie says they’re working on a fixbut solution has yet to materialize nearly a week after launch. +It has been a long time since we’ve seen a proper Bungie game on PC. Outside of the first two Halo games ported well after the fact, the now Washington-based studio wasn’t always well known for their console releases. After splitting off from Microsoft and the Halo brandBungie worked on their next major projectand while it was met with mixed reception, it quickly became one of the biggest new IPs this generationinevitably spawning sequel. Destiny 2 was released last month with numerous improvement to the formula, and even though it didnt completely blow everyone away, it still has strongdedicated fanbaseOne group of gamers that still needs to experience the Destiny love is PC players, but finally that has been rectifiedActivision and Bungie have released the multi-million selling sequel to the open platformbut is it what PC gamers had hoped for or is this a franchise better left on dedicated consoles?

-Destiny 2 astounds with its fantastic art direction, presenting worlds that are bigger and more detailed, and it’s taken up notch on PC. The European Dead Zone and Nessusin particular, are meticulously crafted worlds filled with wild vegetation, towering trees, and flowing riversEffects, lighting, and animation work are also top-notch, helping to make the world of Destiny feel like a real place. The writing and voice acting is mostly okay. There are still some cheesy lines, but there’s nothing as wacky as, "that wizard came from the moon." While the majority of voice actors deliver fine performances, it’s Joy Osmanski’s Failsafe that ultimately steals the show. With excellent comedic timing, Osmanski delivers the best quips of the game and makes Nessus the most fun location to visit.+
